President’s Welcome – Doug Conrad

On behalf of the Home Builders Association of Greater Siouxland, we would like to invite you to attend our 53nd Annual Siouxland Home Show. This event will be held at the Sioux City Convention Center on February 25th through 28th. The hours for the show are from 1-9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Saturday and Noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. For your convenience, the Discovery ramp to the west of the convention center will not charge for parking during show hours. There will be free shuttle service from the east side of the Long Lines Center on Friday – Sunday, and from Great South Bank parking lot on Saturday and Sunday (check time schedule for hours available).

The Home Show has 165 exhibitors (25 of them new to this years show) in 247 booths. Each year the exhibitors are encouraged to have special pricing on their merchandise and to have the newest products on the market for your viewing.

Citizens of the Siouxland community – whether remodeling or building a new home – can talk to the experts at this event. The information that is gathered will increase your knowledge and perhaps decrease your budget for your project. With the wide variety of exhibitors, consumers will be able to get advice on everything for your home or project.

The Board of Directors and the Home Show Committee would like to thank our Home Show sponsors. Through these sponsorships, we will be giving away cash certificates that may be used at any Home Builder Member’s business or an exhibitor at the show. These certificates will be various amounts: 4-$250, 4-$500, and 1-$1,000. Other donated prizes will be given out throughout show hours.) There are 2 special drawings on Thursday for Rascal Flatts' tickets.  You must register, but do not need to be present to win. As you visit the show, you will view signage which will list all of the companies that have sponsored these giveaways.

This year we are very proud to announce free seminars (at the convention center) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Anyone interested in joining our association, stop by the Home Builder’s booth in the front entry for information. Through our monthly membership meetings, we meet and discuss issues that affect the building industry, have educational programs for our members, and share ideas to promote the construction of new homes in the Siouxland area. Our local association began in 1947 and currently we have 226 members. Becoming a member of the association, you also are a member of the State Association of Iowa and the National Association of Home Builders which consists of over 160,000 members.
